Taking Action and Letting Go of the Results, Part II

We know we need to take action, but what does letting go of the results mean?  It means making the decision to being undeterred even if we don't see immediate results.  Let's imagine that you have decided to have a million dollar income this year.  You've done some visualization you've found powerful reasons for why you will have a million dollar income.  You envisioned yourself on New Year's Eve with a bank statement reading one million dollars.  You thought about what you had to have accomplished in November in order to make a million dollars by December, and you back tracked all the way to today, to see what action you need to take in order to be a millionaire in December.  Great.  So today you take that action.

Woman leaping over a hurdleOnly unfortunately it doesn't turn out like it was supposed to, do you

a) give up

b) Lament about how difficult things always are for you and how nothing every works out.

c) Evaluate why you didn't get results and make a decision as to staying with the same action or trying something new

d) Try something new.

If you answered anything other than C you need to reevaluate how you look at results.  If you give up every time you meet resistance it is unlikely that you will ever be successful. If you feel sorry for yourself and waste precious time telling yourself that nothing ever works out - the universe will reword you with a life that is full of strife. Whatever you think you will create - I am living proof.

If you constantly switch actions at the first sign of resistance without evaluating if change is necessary, you will find yourself constantly just missing the mark.

You need to be aware of results but not tied to them.  It's a very fine distinction that people frequently miss.

I will continue to discuss this in Part III, if you don't want to miss it you can subscribe to the blog by subscribing to the blog.

Hi Coco, very well said. Some of my best lessons in life and in biz have come as a result of what I learned from my mistakes.

The most successful people I know make a lot of mistakes because they try so many things but... they also learn from their mistakes.
